Hello, my name is Seungwoo Je.
I am a PhD. candidate at KAIST(Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) industrial design. I am an active member of MAKinteract Lab since its day one, and we’re part of the bigger HCI@KAIST group.
My research involves developing novel haptic devices, understanding users for haptic interface development, and suggesting appropriate interfaces through the design process with interaction designers. I made publications on haptic devices in several HCI venues, including CHI, ISWC, AH. I am also interested in the VR / AR environment, Tangible Interaction, and User-Centered Design.
I like working with people in various fields. So, my research is very multidisciplinary, as seen in my collaborative work with Industrial Design, Computer Science, Mathematical Sciences, Architecture, Aerospace departments.
My long-term research goal is to understand human haptic senses and apply them to wearables to overcome human sensory limitations.
